Eagles Castrate The Redskins' Season And Feed Mark Sanchez The Nuts
The Eagles did what they had to do. Colt McCoy goes down and they, outside of an Adrian Peterson 90-yard giddy up, played decent football. In fact, Peterson didn’t even hit 100-yards on the night as the Skins were held to only 46 yards in the second half. The defense didn’t allow anything exciting happen and made plays when it mattered. Kudos to them. Carson Wentz was a few off target throws and one ATROCIOUS redzone interception away from another very decent game overall (27/39 for 306, 2 TDs, 1 INT, with a lovely 98.9 rtg). Goldon Tate got involved. The O-Line gave up 0 sacks. Almost a 2:1 advantage in time of possession and almost even run/pass ratio shows that things were running pretty damn smoothly all game. Oh, and Zach Ertz broke the Eagles single season record for receptions…in Week 13. Impressive.
Look, the Eagles have a LONG way to go, even if they do win next week in Dallas. Well, they need to win next week in Dallas or it’s basically all over anyways, but it’s nice to have meaningful football get extended another week. Because, who knows? Maybe the Birds will step it up when it matters and make a run. And if you think about it, if the Eagles can someway, somehow spank through a red hot Dallas, a red hot Rams, and the reddest hot Texans, they’re going to be fucking HOT going into the playoffs (assuming they don’t lose to the Redskins in Week 17, which may happen because Philly doesn’t like to give itself nice things). We shall see, Doggoneit. We shall see.
We’re onto Dallas.
